A lot has happened since last I posted. I can't even remember all I've done since then and everything I can remember would probably take a few updates to get it all. So here are just some highlights of what I've been up too!

No, he's not green just because he's sick, it's a green chocobo! Always wanted a green one, can't believe I was able to get it on my second try.

Not to long after I finished CoP I was able to join some shouts for Bahamut and Apocalypse Nigh. Such fun fights and so nice to get them done. I love having Conserve MP now as rdm/whm.

An excuse to finally level PLD!

Just some items I wanted for leveling tank jobs. Using them now on my NIN when I can. For me, +2 enmity helps out so much on NIN and I always need more Hp.

Since Ulli was made a forced spawn, my ls has fought him a few times. 3/5 on Haidate which I think is pretty good. I hope our luck holds out till I can get NIN to 75.

Got to Chief Sergeant and spent a ton of isp on items for my BLU. I've been needed on rdm a lot and leveling other jobs so I haven't been able to use them yet but I can't wait.

Started doing salvage and limbus with my now dynamis/salvage/limbus shell and they're both such a blast! Our first Omega was pretty successful but didn't see any chips from the pods. One more Omega and then we're going to start doing Temenos. Salvage is great too but we're still ironing out some strategies but I think next week we'll be able to get LBC down. Time seems to be our worst enemy in there. I'm after a few pieces in the Morrigan set and I happened to get the first part of the shoes which is nice but I'm not sure I'll pursue them.

Tried to get another merc. kris since I'm running low on money. This one was a disaster since I forgot my 2hr wasn't up and didn't realize it till after we had started. Oops. >.>;

Lastly,

One of these things is not like the others...
I'll let you figure out which. :P

The BIG CoP Post

Finally completed CoP missions! I had the most fun with this expansion in my entire ffxi career. Challenging battles and an exciting story really made it an adventure. I'm gonna try to separate out all the spoilers because I don't want to ruin any surprises for anyone. Still gonna say these are spoilers for those die hard fans who even want the battles to be a surprise. I'll post some real spoilers when I narrow down which I want to post. So here are some pics of mainly the battles!

Promy-Vahzl went extremely well. I managed to stay alive for the whole trip up and through the bc. Not a terribly difficult fight but it was kinda entertaining. I liked the cs after more then the fight itself.

The Mithra fight for 5-3 was probably the easiest for me in all of CoP. Went in with just 5 people, 3 of which were smn including me. 3 astral flows took care of them with no mess. I was kinda surprised we didn't break the clear time for this one.

The Snoll fight was a lot more intense. We must have been seconds away from losing when our sam/rng finished it after taking an iccy wing. We wouldn't have had so much trouble if I had just stayed in one place after getting hate. Managed to move the snoll out of range, messing up 2 ws. Oops. >.>;

Bugbear was a pretty good fight. Probably the easieast fight in 5-3 but more entertaining then the way I did the mithra fight.

On to Chapter 6! These detectors were a little harder then I heard but still pretty easy to take down one at a time.

While farming for my CCB Polymer, I got an item for a quest that involves the ship that Cid makes. After finishing all 3 quests he lets you name his ship which I though was really cool. I wish I could have thought of a better name though...

6-4 would have to be one of my favorite missions in the expansion. Probably the hardest bc as well. I lost track after the 7th or 8th time, but I'm 1/10+ on this one. Up until this mission, I've been 1/1 on every fight since chapter 2. Once we found a strat that took us pretty far, we fine tuned it until we were pros. The winning fight couldn't have gone any better then it did.

In comparison to 6-4, every fight in chapter 7 was a breeze.

For the Tenzen fight, we had the same strat as the snoll. It we so fast I only had time to take 2 screenshots. One of us entering and one of us leaving...

Hurray for chapter 8! I love sea. It's now my most favorite zone in the entire game.

8-1 was a lot like 7-4 but a little bit harder and a lot more fun. Maybe it was just the excitement of being in a new area but I loved all of chapter 8.

Storming the castle!

This pot fight was really fun. Had to do it twice and even the second time we did it we were really close to losing. For the winning fight we only managed to get one pot down before a wipe. Reraised, got 2 more down and wiped again. :x Luckily we killed the last one with a little less then 3 min to spare.

The Final Showdown! Also had to do this one twice because we couldn't keep Selh’teus alive. Even with all the help we got from Selh’teus and Prische, it was still a challenging battle. This was so exciting for me, I couldn't even sit down. Just paced around my room until we were done.

Of course, being a red mage at heart, I chose the Tamas Ring.

I really can't think of anything that would have made this expansion any better. I can't wait for more of my friends to get sea so we can adventure around there together. Big thanks to everyone who was a part of this and all my friends for putting up with the wierd schedule I had to get this done!

It's been so long, I don't know where to start! So lets just dive in. ^^

Been doing some BCNMs for a little bit of money. This one is called Amphibian Assault and it's really easy with 3 RDMs each sleeping one of 4 sahagin while one is getting taken down. I don't want to say an enfeebling torque is 100% drop but I've done this 7 times now and have gotten 7 of them.

Lots of assaults. Mainly "Excavation Duty" for my Yigit Crackows but I'm not going to complain about a rank up!

Really happy about getting those.^^

Also got SMN up to level 50. I wanted to get that so I could bring it CoP 5-2. I really like going to capped battles that are less then 60 as SMN. I hate RDM gear before the af but if I need to, I'll go as RDM. I really can't wait to finish up CoP. The ring will be nice but right now I'm so into this story.^^

Been meriting a bit but not as much as I'd like to. I think I need somewhere around 64 more merits to be finished for awhile. That doesn't include combat skills because I don't plan on leveling a melee job for a long time. Most likely I'll be posting more about merits soon looking for a little guidance. :x

This is my second O-Hat run so far. I liked this run a lot better because we only had to do 6 hats instead of 14 like last time. It went really well I think. I died from an unfortunate convert and Cured and our BLM also died once but at least there were no wipes and no lost clusters.^^

While we were in the area, we also did the Decimation NM for Feli and Nekio. Couldn't have gone smoother. Congrats Feli!^^

First up...

Got a new dynamis ls, DynamisFalls. Only been on four runs so far, sandy once and windy three times. Cleared sandy and was really REALLY close to clear windy the last time. Near the end of that one I wasn't even sitting down anymore. And of course, tons of af!

Hoping to clear windy soon so I can go on a lot more runs. Lost some exp but I had so much fun I don't really care. I even have most of it back already thanks to besieged!

Speaking of which...

Valefor lost a besieged finally. ; ; Darn trolls took out all our generals and got into the hall of binding but we managed to fend them back! Unfortunately, Mamool Jas were waiting outside and with no generals left, it didn't take them long to win.
If you've never seen the Astral Candescence up close, here it is!

And then there was...

Finished getting most crafts up to 60 and also got clothcraft up to 88. Done taking all the guild tests, unless I start fishing more. Huzzah!^^

Leveling clothcraft and goldsmithing is really slow, so I started meriting a bunch.

So I got more...

I got Phalanx 2, Paralyze 2, Slow 2 and Blind 2 so far.

Probably won't get Dia 3 or Bio 3 but I haven't decided yet. If not, I'll upgrade Blind and Slow again.

And finally...

While meriting, my party stumbled upon a new nm! We quickly joined forces with another party that had spotted him as well, cleared the area and went for it. Darting Kachaal Ja was it's name, a BLM type that we found at I-8 on the third map of Mamook. He would sleepga 2, silencega, bindga, aero 4 and aeroga 3. The aeroga would hit pretty hard and with sleepga and bindga too, he can be pretty tough. He doesn't like being close to whoever has hate, often he would cast bindga, walk away from whoever had and then aeroga us. We wiped the first time partly due to repops. Some people went to change their job and came back after that. We did some party swaping and tried again. This time we tried to spread out a bit more so he wouldn't get everyone with AoE. But when things start to repop, things got kinda tight again. Near the end it we got him into a near by tunnel and he stopped casting. It was almost like he was out of mp which I didn't think could happen to NMs. Our tank grabbed hate and went as far back as he could into tunnel, the NM followed and would stand some distance back just staring at him while we finished him off. Got 2 wind crystals from him. ; ; Really fun fight!

Haven't updated in so long! Probably 'cause I haven't been up to anything very interesting. Been crafting a lot as always. I'm almost done and have everything about where I want it. Took a little while to get there and it wasn't cheap but it's nice to be able to make so much stuff for people!

Also been trying to keep up with assaults and finally got to Private First Class. I'm really psyched for this update. The expansion has been so much fun so far and I hope will continue to be that way!

In different expansion news I finally finished 4-2 for CoP! Not at all as hard as I thought it would be. One of our blms d/ced right before we entered so we did it with just one. Went well until about 40% when he refused to be slept any more. We quickly finished with me and the other rdm chainspelling and nuking it to death. Only one death thanks to me and a poorly timed convert. Didn't take any good picks 'cause I never think to take any when all the exciting stuff happens. =P

After that I went to go finish up all the cutscenes to get ready for the next mission. Passed by the waterfall in Lufaise Meadows which is one of my favorite places in CoP that I have access to.

One of my friends, Shira, wanted a pair of opaline hose so we farmed some twincoons and I signed her a pair to wear. Then Feli told me that signing a womans hose is like signing a marriage contract! So I get to the altar to marry Shira and find that Feli has beaten me to it.

I can't complain when two lovely ladies decide to get together. Guess I'm just cursed to be a bachelor forever. What else is a guy to do?

Did BugBear Matman to get some Rutter Sabatons for feli last week. Getting around the Movolpalos was trickier then I thought. But eventually I got to the mine shaft and was able to work the fences to lets everyone through. When we started the fight, the first thing he did was flying hip press which took both feli and ori down to the red. My first thought was "we're done for!" but the besides that move, the fight was pretty easy and it dropped the boots! Congrats feli! have fun with your new boots.^^

Woot! Yesterday Ori, Cured, Feli and I did ZM5-12 and got Feli to sky! ZMs went very smoothly and very fast. After getting to know her, I think it's safe to say that sky was made for her. (I wouldn't be surprised if she had a hand in designing that place either >.>) Camped Zip (forever), got the gem and did Genbu all in the same night. A very full day and I couldn't have had more fun!^^

Didn't do any leveling like I said. The full moon got the better of me and I've been craftin ever since. Been doing both bonecraft and woodworking at the same time, horn arrowheads and then horn arrows. Also finished getting smithing to 60 and got clothcraft to 85. For smithing, I made darksteel bolt heads which were really expensive but later I can use them to get woodworking to 60.

Finally got evisceration! I've had the trial dagger for as long as I can remember (which isn't saying much). Feels great to have a dagger skill that can do some damage! Big thanks to Feli, Cured and everyone else from DH that helped me get it!^^

Also, almost done with smithing and hopefully I'll be finishing woodworking soon too. I was hoping to get most crafts to 60 before I started leveling other jobs again but crafting is becoming tedious lately. BLU here I come!

Did Dynamis Bastok and got the clear this time! Just need windy now and I can go to Beaucedine. I'm pretty excited about that. A pair of RDM gloves dropped which I lotted 136 on. I would have really liked those gloves, but I'm more then happy with just a clear. ^^

Also had another great burn party yesterday. NIN, WARx2, BST, BRD and RDM (me) was the set up. We were right outside the Mamool Ja Staging Point pulling Puks and Mamool Ja. Not to hard to heal since everyone but me and the bard had shadows. Although, I was waiting on convert to be up a couple of times. I hadn't considered meriting convert recast before, but I am now.

Today, I finally got my weavers apron! YAY +1! It probably won't make as big a difference as I think it will, but it's still so nice to have!^^

Finally did CoP 3-5 last sunday! It feels so good to start doing these missions again. I've been waiting for my ls so we could do it together, but it took them over a month to get ready for this one. I hope we get to the next missions a bit quicker. The fight was a lot easier then I thought it would be from other peoples' stories. We had 10 people, the DRKs went in all times. There was one wipe with the first pt, the next time they won and no one died. Then my pt went in. We won but 3 people died, then 2 more died after we were out because of bio lol. But 2/3 runs isn't bad I think. The first pt even got the record when they won! I think it was 6min and 20 something seconds.

After that, I joined an assault with some japanese players. We won but I'm pretty sure they were talking about me >.> This make 3 successful assaults for me. Just need to do the Mamool Ja and Azouph Isle ones to get promoted to first class.^^

My ls did our first god too. We did Genbu with 13 people. It was so much fun, even though a few people died. I've done all the gods before (except for Kirin) but this time was a lot better I thought. Kabuto and Wyrmal Abjuration dropped. Was hoping for a sheild, but I'm sure this won't be the last time I see Genbu.^^

Just die already, Genbu!

First of all, WOOOOOOOOT! finally got another kris!! After being 3/16, we are now 4/48. I think we got pretty lucky selling it too. The market for these went down to 20mil for awhile but that was when there were 5 or so being sold at once. We haven't seen any in awhile so we started out asking for 40mil but eventually sold it for 30, which is what we sold all the others for. Not to shabby if you ask me!

Also did Dynamis-Sandy the same day and got a clear! I was pretty impressed, although I haven't gone to many Dynamiss'. (or is it Dynami?) I only died once and there were no complete wipes.

Kiting a bunch of smn while we peel them off, one by one.

Crafting and Kris!

I was waiting to update again untill I hit 60 alchemy, which I did!

Took a while to get and quite a bit of money near the end. It could have been a lot cheaper but when I was about 5 levels from 60, I just wanted to finish so bad I would spend double what materials were worth on AH. Feli was leveling clothcraft at the same time and hit 60 just about the time I did! We both hit 59.7 at the same time, it was really cool. Before I loged off for the night, I hit 45 woodworking too. It was a great feeling to logout with.

feli_valefor, cured_valefor and I have started Mercurial Kris runs again. We've gotten 3 in the past, our record was 3/16. Now we're 3/42 which is kinda depressing. Getting the first 3 so fast was really good luck, but i didn't realize how good that was untill now, we're coming close to 0/30. But the good thing is I have always had fun on every run we do. That definetly makes it worth everything.

So much to share!

I have been reading other peoples ffxi livejournals for awhile now and it seems like it would be fun. One of my friends (feli_valefor) told me while crafting in Bastok that I should make one. So I'm gonna give it a shot!

I'm a 75 Red Mage and part of DarkHorizon ls. Clothcraft is what I do and I'm currently 81. Yesterday I had one of the best parties I've ever had on rdm. It was in Caedarva Mire close to the Azouph Staging point. Killed flies, imps and doomed very easily with our war x2, nin, brd, whm, rdm setup. Lots of 20+ chains with some 40+ and one chain 62!

With the ISP I got from that party, I was able to finish getting all my maps and got the currency for my last mog locker upgrade. I'm trying to really stay caught up with this expansion. I'm still so far behind on CoP, I don't think i'll ever finish.

Also been doing a lot of crafting lately. I was stuck around 75 clothcraft, skilling up on rainbow thread/cloth. ToAU added a new type of fletching using puk wings. They're so much cheaper then spider webs. After I finish with those, I'm not sure what I'm gonna do, but I'll figure out something.
